A Tribute to Bro. Kenneth Solomon Gordon
On behalf of the Burke family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of our beloved Bro. Kenneth Solomon Gordon.
Bro. Ken was more than a family friend—he was family. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support left an unforgettable mark on our lives. No matter how busy he was, he always found time to run errands, lend a helping hand, or simply be there whenever someone needed him. During seasons of grief and hardship, he stood beside us, offering comfort, encouragement, and strength.
Bro. Ken had a wonderful sense of humour and a laugh that could brighten any room. One of our fondest family memories was his pride in the tomatoes he grew in his garden. He would lovingly bring the best of his harvest to Bernice and later ask, “Bernice, how were the tomatoes?” Bernice would smile and say, “Ask Hazel.” He would then turn to me and ask, “Hazel, did you eat all the tomatoes?” Looking him straight in the eyes, I replied, “Bro. Ken, if you turned into a tomato, I would eat you too!” He burst into laughter, and for years afterward, he would joyfully repeat that story whenever he saw me. It is a memory we will always treasure.
His kindness, humour, compassion, and genuine love for others will never be forgotten. The world has lost a truly remarkable man, but Heaven has gained a faithful soul.
To his family, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May God surround you with His perfect peace, comfort your hearts, strengthen you in the days ahead, and remind you that He is near to the brokenhearted.
Rest peacefully, Bro. Ken. Thank you for your friendship, your laughter, and the love you so freely shared. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you.
With deepest sympathy,
The Burke Family

My deepest condolences to the family. Ken was very kind and helpful whenever needed. He will be greatly missed. Gone, but not forgotten.
Ken,
I am honestly shocked. I just always thought you would be around, honestly. You have been present in my life since childhood. A few memories that come to mind are. When I needed a gallbladder surgery after having my son. My grandma just mentioned it to you and without asking you offered to drive me all the way to St. Albert to get them removed. I will be always grateful for that as I wasn’t permitted to drive myself there. Domino nights! When you would come to my grandmas (the beautiful Bernice Burke) and keep her company. One day I stayed and played with you both and it became a thing for us 3. Just sitting, chatting, playing dominos and sharing food. You always loved blocking games to make people count whenever you had a S/blank or double blank. You would laugh loud when you knew you would win. I used to concede graciously. Until I realized those two specifically had marks. Grandma used to say you would cheat. Well one day you said I was cheating because I kept drawing double blank and s/blank and made you count and you would lose. I never admitted it then, and one day I was going to tell you and I knew we would laugh about it. But that day will never come…the truth is I noticed the s/blank and double blank had scratches on them in the corners from YOU banging them down and tapping them. So I used that to my advantage. So indeed Ken I was cheating haha. Regardless those memories will live on forever in my mind. I truly am grateful for the time you not only spent with my grandma but with me as well. I will never forget you made the best jerk pork ever! That you were always willing to lend a helping hand, that you cherish your friends dearly, and that you were kind. You will be missed, especially by our family. I pray you rest in paradise.
Thank you,
My sincere condolences to the Gordon family and friends. We are grieving with you during this difficult time. My dear friend Kenneth is gone but will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.
