Lawrence William Godziuk

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence William Godziuk (known by many as “Gazoo”) on November 9, 2025, at the age of 65 years. Lawrence is survived by his loving common-law wife of 38 years, Sonya Quirk; his son, Gervaise (Meaghan) Godziuk; grandson, Tyler Godziuk; sister, Lorraine (Bill Wray) Wood; sister, Lorna Godziuk; brother, Larry (Jennifer) Godziuk; nephews, Christopher Godziuk (daughter, Emerald), David Godziuk, and Gregory (Megan) Godziuk; nieces, Andrea (Dean) Schmidt (son, Noah and daughter, Clara) and Erin (Ira) Godziuk; sister-in-law, Colleen Godziuk; as well as many extended family and friends.

Lawrence was predeceased by his father, Peter Godziuk; mother, Alice Godziuk; infant brother David Godziuk; brother, Leonard Godziuk; paternal grandparents, William and Anna Godziuk; maternal grandparents, Mike and Rosie Turzanski; and niece, Miriam Godziuk; as well as many extended family and friends.

Lawrence will forever be remembered as a loving partner and husband, father, Papa to his beloved grandson, Tyler, brother, uncle and friend. We will all miss his crazy sense of humor, his love of laughter, his wild imagination with his storytelling and his love for his family and friends – and let’s not forget, he rarely turned down the opportunity to share a few cocktails and laughs.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
