It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Maureen on December 26, 2019 at the age of 69.  She was born in May of 1950, to Lester and Gwen McGhan in Edmonton, Alberta.

Maureen is survived by her husband and best friend of 41 years, Dave and her daughters Dayna McGeachy and Jaaki (Steve) Chatry.  Mimi leaves behind her Grandchildren Kaela and Colin Chatry and Alyson, Evan and Daniel McGeachy and many in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents Lester and Gwen McGhan, her sister Donna Patriquin and her brother D’Arcy McGhan.

Maureen and Dave lived both here and in Mexico.  She was known for her love of having friends and family always around her no matter where she was.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of sending flowers, please make a memorial donation directly to their charity of choice or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

    We are very saddened to hear of the sudden passing of your wife, mom and Mimi.
    Maureen was a very special person who always made everyone welcome.
    I remember the 1st night we met at Casa Blanca in December of 2012. We were so fortunate to be your next door neighbour for 4 years. So many fun nights and great parties.

  5. It is so hard to believe that Maureen is gone. She was too young. A year ago today we were sailing with you in Mexico.
    Maureen, you have left behind many fans of you and your philanthropic deeds. So many friends and family have expressed their sadness and the loss they feel. You made a difference!

  11. There are not enough words to say how special Maureen was. Sitting around the fire with her and Dave at the lake were some of our favorite memories as well as all the fun in Mexico we had. Walking the dogs at the lake, you were always waving back with a smile. She always made you feel welcome and special. We will miss you Maureen! ♥️
