It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nelson Pedro De Melo, who peacefully departed this world on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, at the age of 72. Nelson was a beloved resident of Edmonton, Alberta, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Nelson was born on Sunday, April 19th, 1953, in the picturesque town of Ponta Delgada. His early life in such a vibrant environment imbued him with a rich sense of culture and community that he carried with him throughout his life.
In his professional life, Nelson was known for his remarkable dedication and craftsmanship as a tack welder, specializing in cement work. He spent his career building a legacy of hard work and integrity, leaving an indelible mark on many projects and colleagues who appreciated his skill and attention to detail. His work was not just a job but a craft that he committed to with passion and pride.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nelson was a man of great warmth and kindness. He was a loving family member and a cherished friend. His sense of humor, wisdom, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
Nelson is survived by his loving family, who will continue to honor and celebrate his life and legacy. His family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to join in a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Trinity Funeral Home, where memories and condolences may be shared with Nelson's family and friends.

Nelson is survived by his beloved wife Berta, his son John-Paul (Melissa), daughter Priscilla, grandchildren Eva, Emily, Lyndon, by his brothers Gilberto (Maria dos Anjos), Arnaldo (Eduarda), along with relatives, who will continue to honor and celebrate his life and legacy. His friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to the funeral to be held at St. Matthews Church.
