Robert David MacDonald
It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Robert David MacDonald on June 18th , 2026 at the Misrecordia Hospital after a very brave battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia he was the son of the late Robert and Lillian MacDonald.
Robert is survived by his wife Yiqing, daughter Sara (Matthew), son John, granddaughter Astrid, his sister Kimberly (Ed) and him many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother Brian.
Robert (David) loved spending time with his family and friends, loved being with his dogs, fishing, hunting, planting, reading bible scriptures, trying new foods and beverages as well as surfing utube and TikTok.
A memorial service will be held on a future date, family and friends will be invited to share their favourite memories and enjoy light snacks and refreshments.
The family is sincerely grateful to the staff of the Misrecordia Hospital for the kindness and care they provided during his stay with them.
My most sincere condolences to the entire family. David was a good man, and a good friend, he was really like a big brother to me. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace David.
He was a kind, loving, warm-hearted, optimistic, and resilient person who always cared for and loved his family and friends. He was my best friend in Canada. May he rest in peace in heaven.

My sincere condolences to Robert and his family. I first met Robert years ago when I called him for help with Pigeons in my attic. He subsequently helped me with a vole problem for years. His annual visit became a social visit. He is truly a great man who possessed a honesty and desire to help all those he touched. He will be missed and I was honoured to have met him.
