It is with our greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Louise Chafe ,on June 23, 2023 at the age of 63.

Louise lived with cancer since March, 2022 but never lost her positive outlook and was determined to live every day to its fullest. She was a model of courage and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Leaves to mourn: her loving husband Dave Chafe, daughter Sarah Martin (Darryl Slaney), son Tim Martin, sisters Kay (Jim) Butler, Liz (Rob) Crosbie and Susan (Charles) Kemp, nieces and nephews; Nicholas and Jonathan Chafe, Andrew Crosbie and Matthew and Victoria Kemp, grandchildren; Gavin and Raiven Martin-Slaney, step-nephew Shaun (Almond) Chafe, stepdaughters Cindy Smith and Nicole Kos and step-grandchildren; Baylie, Blake and Tyson Smith and Hayden Wierzba.

Louise is predeceased by her parents Randal and Myra Torraville nee Blackmore.

Louise wanted to thank her special friends Cheryl and Clyde Chafe, Barb and Austin Walsh and Mike and Georgina Terry.

In lieu of flowers, Louise would like donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

There will be a Celebration of Louise's Life on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 2:00PM at Trinity Funeral Home, 10530 116 Street, Edmonton AB.

  1. Louise was the bravest person we knew. She was always so caring for other people. She had a heart of gold. She will be missed by so many especially myself and Mick. Sending hugs to Dave and her family.
