STEPHEN JAKAB

Stephen Jakab passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on December 19, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on March 11, 1938, in Mokrance, Slovakia, Stephen was raised alongside his three brothers, one of whom still resides in Slovakia. His early life shaped the deep faith, generosity, and sense of service that guided him throughout his years.

Stephen was a devoted husband to Susan, his wife of 51 years, and a loving father to his daughters: Csilla (Darren Fee), Orsolya (Colin Welch), and Monika (Eron Cannon). He was a proud and deeply cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren—Carmen (19), Brady (17), Ryan (16), Brooklyn (14), Mekayla (14), Klara (12), and Beckett (10)—who brought him immense joy.

A true believer, Stephen lived his faith through action. He gave generously to all, served faithfully within the church, and dedicated over 25 years as a Scout leader, shaping the lives of countless young people with patience, integrity, and kindness. His church was central to his life, and his devotion to it never wavered.

Stephen found great peace at the cabin near Pigeon Lake, where time slowed and family gathered. These moments—rooted in togetherness, reflection, and gratitude—were among his most treasured.

Stephen will be remembered for his unwavering faith, quiet generosity, commitment to service, and the deep love he held for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and steadfast belief.
