With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our dad, Victor Borchuk, on December 27, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Victor was a loving and devoted family man who deeply cherished his friends and loved ones. He found his greatest joy in being surrounded by his children and grandchildren—sharing meals, watching old family movies together, spending time at his cabin on St. Vincent Lake, and traveling with friends. Victor also loved the Edmonton Oilers, watching Family Feud, and calling family members to sing “Happy Birthday.”

Victor was extremely proud of owning Vic’s Upholstery (1971–2012), where he specialized in restoring antique furniture. He was also well known throughout the city for upholstering restaurant booths—and often joked that one of his proudest accomplishments was reupholstering a chair for Queen Elizabeth.

Victor is survived by his children: Christine Greene (grandchildren Jamie(Rai) and Devin), Shelley Bell (Simon; grandchildren Rachael and Ethan), Daryl Borchuk (grandchild Reece), and Tammy Wildemann (Ron; grandchildren Dawson and Annie). He is also survived by his sister Margaret and David Phillip, and his brother Tony and Marilyn Borchuk. Victor was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Julia Borchuk, and his siblings Jenny, Frances, Stella, Walter, and David. He is also lovingly remembered by his many friends and family, all of whom will carry forward his love, humour, and legacy.
