Victor Maurice Lalonde
It is with profound sadness and full hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Victor Maurice Lalonde — known and loved by so many simply as Moe — on May 20, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 87.
Born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, and raised in Willow Bunch. Moe proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for over 26 years before serving with Corrections Canada as a Correctional Officer until his retirement in 2008. Both careers were carried out with the same professionalism, integrity, and dedication that defined everything he did.
Moe had a deep love of family, travel, and adventure. He and Rosemarie shared a beautiful life — exploring the world, making cherished memories with their children and grandchildren, and finding joy in life's simplest moments. He had a warmth and generosity of spirit that made everyone around him feel welcome, valued, and loved.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of nearly 56 years, Rosemarie; his son Justen (Leslie) of Victoria, British Columbia; his daughter Michelle (Stéphane) of Edmonton, Alberta; his beloved grandchildren Olivia, Isabella, and Julia Beauchemin, and Lila, Ivy, and Cole Lalonde; his sisters Thérèse Webster (Terry) and Aline Farwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Napoleon (Babe) and Beatrice Lalonde; his brothers, Albert and Alfred; and his sisters Alice, Jeanne, and Evelyn.
Moe will be remembered for the love he gave so freely and the lasting impression he left on the hearts of all who knew him.
