It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vicki Montpetit on October 30, 2025, at the age of 90, after a brief but courageous battle with dementia. Vickie was a confident and headstrong woman with remarkable strength.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ernie Montpetit, and her brothers, Frank and Morris.
She is survived by her devoted sister Adeline and brother-in-law Jim Lemiski, as well as sister-in-law Elsie Smadis.
Vicki will be lovingly remembered by her niece Lana, nephews Jason, Kevin, Doug, Greg, Darren, Scott, and their families, along with other relatives and friends.
Thank you for the lessons, the laughter, the stubborn wisdom, and, of course the love.

I will always cherish my loving memories of Aunt Vicky for her unwavering strength and resilience. I will always remember her for the loving care she gave my Uncle Ernie during my numerous visits prior to moving to Edmonton.
Aunt Vicky had a knack and unique ability for making everyone feel special, but for me, her love shone brightest during our cherished and consistent weekly Sunday afternoons together for the 8 years I lived in Edmonton. We shopped, went to events and had coffee time at various Edmonton cafes or in her home where we sometimes did some yard work afterwards!
Once in Ottawa, we scheduled our weekly Sunday meets with phone calls. I will forever treasure the memory of our shared stories with a joke or two. I was so heart broken when she couldn’t speak on the phone a year ago and I chose to live on the memories of our chats for comfort…
She was a kind and loving Aunt who wanted the best outcome for everyone around her. She was a great crafter, gardener, dedicated to her work, loved fashion, extraordinary loving caregiver to Uncle Ernie, loved family, friends and enjoyed travelling especially to Hawaii. She will profoundly be missed by the many and myself, she certainly made the world a better place.
I will miss her dearly. Her loving niece, Colette xxx
Vicki Montpetit was a great lady. When I worked on the side I used to meet Ernie and Vicki at Bonnie Doon Mall for a coffee. She worked at Canada Packers with my sister Helen. Her family and ours grew up in the same area of the city. Rip my dear friend. God Bless. You will be missed. Now you are with your beloved Ernie.
