Our beloved father, William Wenshan Wu, was born in Taiwan on October 17, 1928, and passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026. He is now rejoicing with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is now also united with his beloved wife of 65 years, Ruth, and his son-in-law, Ray, in heaven.

William was the eldest of seven children at home during the era of Japanese-governed Taiwan. He was educated in the Japanese language in Taipei. He was a diligent and intelligent student, consistently placing at the top of his class every year. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1972. He was hired by Flakt (later ABB), a Swedish company, as an engineer and worked there until his retirement in 1993 at age 65. Throughout his career, he was highly respected and trusted by management, and had numerous opportunities to travel to Sweden and other parts of Europe for work and leisure.

He lived a diligent and fulfilling life, raising five daughters with love. Today, he leaves behind a flourishing family: five daughters and four sons-in-law; eleven grandchildren and eight grandchildren-in-law; and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom carry on his legacy. In his final moments, his children were by his side; his face was serene, as if he had simply fallen asleep and returned to his heavenly home.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7, KJV)

A Celebration of Life will be held in Edmonton on October 10 (details TBA),
Vancouver on October 16, 2026, 3–5 pm at the CCM Centre at Crystal Mall, 4533 Kingsborough St., Burnaby, BC.
