It is with heavy hearts to announce the sudden Passing of William (Willie) McCollom on February 28th 2026 at the age of 66 surrounded by family.

Willie was a one-of-a-kind soul who is the prime example of how someone can change their life for the better and impact hundreds of people in the process. Willie was known by a few names, Dad, Opa, Uncle Willie, Grandpa and Best Friend. His favorite name, however, was father. He dedicated his life to being the best father a daughter could ask for and becoming a best friend in the process. No matter the time of day he would always be on the other line of the phone to listen to all your issues and give you his words of wisdom. Willie was always there to support and/or help anyone with any issues just as long as you where ready to have your ear talked off with his endless stories. He lived a life most would see in multiple life-times and held the scars to prove it. Willie would always catch your eye in a meeting or at an event with his tie dye shirts or jean short shorts. Even through all his struggle and trials he always had a smile on his face. In the early 2000’s he found his calling for helping people through their recovery journeys which transitioned later into speaking to youth taking the wrong path in life in hopes it would help. He didn’t limit himself to youth but adults that wanted to change their life. Willie would go out of his way to help no matter how lost you might have felt.  Negative or Positive Willie always made an imprint on you.

Even though his soul is with the higher power now he will be forever missed on earth but in the hearts of everyone who still holds his memory close.

My mind still talks to you

My heart still looks for you

My soul knows you are at peace

But I will forever miss you

I will leave you with his words of wisdom he would want everyone to know “Don’t eat yellow snow”

Two Memorials will be held at a later date.  One will be in Edmonton and the other will be held in Kelowna. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome and it will be a family BBQ style.  Please follow Facebook for more information.
