In Loving Memory of Ross Peter Jensen
December 6, 1935 – July 19, 2025

With full hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we share that Ross Jensen peacefully completed his earthly journey on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Ross was born in Aetna, Alberta, on December 6, 1935, and from the very beginning, he brought a sense of duty to everything he did. Over the years, he became the steady, wise, and loving presence who took care of those he loved with quiet sacrifice and devotion.

Ross was married to the love of his life, Marie (Barrus) Jensen, for 68 years - a bond that gave their family the firm foundation it still rests on today.

He leaves behind a legacy that is rich in love and laughter: their five children — Brenda (Dennis) Rolls, Don (Kim) Jensen, Sandy (Vern) Willett, Bob (Heidi) Jensen, and Pam (Casey) Warren — along with 15 grandchildren: Jaime, Jackie, Jordan, Justin, Ian, Andrea, Amy, Eric, Leigh, Josie, Katie, Jessica, Sena, Clark, and Jane. He was also the proud great-grandfather of 26 great-grandchildren — each of who adored him and have treasured memories of his teasing and unforgettable wit and generosity.

Ross spent most of his working life in management for the produce industry, with companies like IGA, Horne & Pitfield, and Edmonton Potato Growers. His career took him and his growing family to many parts of Alberta before they settled in Spruce Grove, where they would become longtime and beloved members of the community.

He and Marie were tireless contributors to building their local congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Whether they were selling Taber corn, organizing rodeos, or dipping homemade chocolates to raise money for a new church building in the 1980s, Ross was always ready to help — hands-on and happy to serve.

Ross is survived by his brother, Bryce Jensen, and many nieces and nephews who looked up to him as a mentor and a friend. He is reunited with his parents, Verna and Eph, his brother Denzil, and sister Carolyne.

To know Ross was to be on the receiving end of his signature sarcasm, kind-hearted teasing, and a quiet generosity that often went unnoticed. He had a habit of giving anonymously, slipping money or gifts to people in need.

In keeping with Ross’s wishes, there will be a private family gathering to celebrate his life and legacy.

To carry forward his legacy, please consider offering a quiet act of service or a donation to someone in need — just as he did, time and again, without ever needing recognition.

We will miss him deeply and cherish the many memories he gave us.

  1. He left an unforgettable legacy of love and laughter. Condolences to all his family that he was so very proud of. ♥️♥️

  2. So sorry for the loss but he was loved by all that knew him… Great blessing that I knew and loved him like a dad…

  3. My family has known Ross well over 50 years. He was a great friend to us and loved my little “ rottens ” ( grandchildren) as he called so many of the youth. We worked alongside him on those many projects to build our Chapel in Spruce Grove. His smile will be so missed. My deepest condolences to Marie, Brenda, Don, Bob, Sandy, Pam and families. What wonderful memories you have which will help to bring some comfort at this difficult time . Families are forever ! Hugs and love 🙏🏻❤️
