Alice Brebrich
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025 Alice passed away peacefully at the age of 92.
Alice had a full and active long life. Born in Fairview, the eldest of 5 children, she grew up on the Brebrich family homestead. She ventured from Alberta and lived and worked in Ottawa and Vancouver before returning and planting her roots in Edmonton by purchasing a house in the Sherbrooke neighborhood. That was her home for nearly 50 years. Alice was a very dedicated volunteer for the community league and St. Pius X Catholic Church during that time. Over the years, while she also volunteered for other organizations, she enjoyed her various hobbies (water color painting was her favorite) and adventures shared with friends and relatives, both near and far.
She kept an immaculate home and yard and although it was a hard decision, in her mid-80’s she decided to downsize by having the last of her many garage sales. Her sales were the neatest, cleanest, most organized garage sales ever – just as you would expect from her! She moved into independent living at Shepherd’s Care Kensington and was able to continue her love of gardening by having her own small plot to plant and tend to. She also had a lovely patio to nurture her flowers including ones she had overwintered for years. When her health began to decline and she needed more assistance, she moved into Lewis Estates Retirement Residence where she spent the last few years. A big thank you to all of the staff there that supported Alice.
Mourning her loss is her brother Frank and sister Betty (Ken), niece Corinne, and nephews Len (Paula) and Ron. She was predeceased by her parents Tom and Mildred, her sister Margeurite (Richard), her brother Robert and her nephew Martin.
May she rest in eternal peace.
No formal service is planned for Alice. A mass in her honor will be said at a later date.
