With great sadness we announce the passing of Louise Symington (Enger) on August 10, 2025 at Edmonton University Hospital at age of 88.

Louise was the second child of five to Ken and Orece Symington of Lloydminster Alberta and born on May 12, 1937.

As a girl working hard on the farm, she was a great student and accomplished volleyball player at Lloydminster School.

Louise started her vocation of nursing after high school. She took a break from school to marry Gerald Enger and start a family. Gerald and Louise had 4 children, 3 sons (Kerry, Robert and Darren) and a daughter (Lori). While raising 4 children, Louise had the energy to complete her Nursing diploma, her B.Sc. in Nursing. Louise became a registered nurse with the VON and then AHS. For over fifty years she nursed with care, compassion and devotion to all her patients.

As devoted mother, grandmother and a friend she was known for her infectious laugh, love of cooking and Petite Point. On retiring from nursing, she enjoyed her life travelling, spending time with family, and going to Arizona for the winters. AMD robbed her ability to see and drive, but regardless her disease, she was able to live independently in her own Edmonton home until end of her life.

Louise was predeceased by her parents Ken and Orece, her siblings Wally, Jim, and Delores, and survived by her brother David, her sons, Kerry, Robert, Darren and daughter, Lori. She had 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

We would like to thank all Doctors and nurses at Edmonton University Hospital for their care and support during difficult time for Louise and her family.

Louise will be greatly missed by everybody who knew and loved her.

The Celebration of life for Louise will be held in later date.
