Ron was a loving Husband, devoted Dad, incredible Papa and Friend to many.

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Ron, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn his loving wife Lori of 52 years.  Son Michael, Daughter Danielle (Jason) Smith, Son Brian (Suzanne) and Grandchildren Makenna, Cohen (Smith) Jasper, Bodhi.  Brothers Rick (Rita) Barry, (Marie) sister Sandy, brothers in laws Dave, Steve, Ken (Fraser) and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Frances and Joseph, Mary Fraser mother in law, brothers in law Bob Tkachuk, Robert Fraser and wife Terrie.

Special Thank you to Dr. A Kelly, Dr. V Biron, Dr. N Chua, Dr. J Turner and Dr. A Valiakalayil, and all the healthcare professionals who helped Ron along his journey.

In lieu of flowers to honor Ron, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Charity of your choice.

    I was so sorry to hear about Ron’s battle with cancer and his passing. I worked with Ron for a good number of years at the Youth Development Centre and our work paths crossed occasionally after he move to the Yellowhead Youth Centre.
    My deepest condolence to you and your family, Ron was a kind and caring gentleman.

  4. when i heard of ron passing such a tradedy, i got to know ron through edmonton northlands, he had an amazing personality that everyone wanted, always smiling and very kind friendly person and funny person, he was a great soul, and will be missed big time, i give my condolence to his family, and will keep them in my prayers in time of sadness

  6. It was such a pleasure working shifts with Ron at Northlands and Rogers Place. He was a fun character and always pleasant. So sorry to hear of your loss.

  7. My sincere condolences to you Lori and your family. My heart truly aches for you as I’m going through the same thing. His message to me even though he was very ill truly speaks for the person he was. He spoke of the family reunion which I am so glad we had as are good memories for everyone and some have since left us. Will see you on the 5th.
