Jeanne Dick
Our sweet Katie Jeanne recently passed away at the age of 93. The youngest of 7 siblings, she was an afterthought by 10 years, and an energetic addition to life on a Forestburg farm. She loved her big extended family and all her nieces and nephews and looked forward to the day she would have her own children. She eventually met and happily married Bob Dick and became a loving mother of three and a grandmother to two much anticipated grandsons (Gary). She was also “like a Mom” to many and a dear aunt to others. She is predeceased by her husband Bob, her eldest daughter Leslie, all her siblings and many other beloved friends and family.
Jeanne treasured the world she and Bob created over the years. Compassionate, thoughtful and kind she filled her tidy home and relationships with special touches, occasions and remembrances. She enjoyed entertaining and her door was always open for tea, a delicious meal, shared laughter or a shoulder to cry on. She held many dear friends and family close for her lifetime.
Jeanne and Bob were among the charter members of Trinity United Church which played a guiding role throughout their lives, providing faith, community and support. Jeanne was a constant and enthusiastic member of the Trinity United Church Women’s group. She greatly enjoyed the friendship, camaraderie and contributions made by this tireless, generous group of women.
Jeanne was a lover of life, people (babies!) and little animals and took great care in all her many roles. She loved laughter, music, dancing and a good get-together. She loved a glowing sunset, a windless day, rainbows, blue skies, big trees and open prairie. She loved the light, not the darkness and she was a gentle, enduring light in our lives and will be greatly missed. They say a Mother’s prayers are still protecting you today. We now pray for Jeanne that her kind spirit will gratefully rest in everlasting peace and joy and… we thank you for everything Mom.

I recall that in 2014 I saw Bob and Jeanne at the Flamingo Restaurant in Edmonton. They had just returned from church as I had also with my son Rick and family. So, I cautiously approached them and Bob recognized me immediately but Jeanne was not too sure about me being a Mallett.
My father was Carl Mallett, nephew of Bert and son of George Mallett of Forestburg.
Seems to me Bob and Jeanne had some property near Killiam AB that we chatted about. Sunday brunch is a double blessing indeed! Jack Mallett
My grandfather , George Mallett , had two brothers, Ambie and Bert.
I am Carl Mallett’s daughter, Patricia. I often visited Uncle Bert and Aunt Violet in Forestburg where I got to know the Bert Mallett family including Jeanne. She was so gracious and kind. After moving to Edmonton, I saw Jeanne and Bob several times.
Please accept my sympathy is the loss of a truly lovely person.
My condolences to the family of Bob and Jeanne . I was part of the Trinity United church from 2002 to 2018. I am unable to attend as I have moved away but will take a moment on the 24th to remember them
