It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Louis Rudiger, of Lac La Biche on July 9th, 2025 at the age of 45. He left behind a legacy of a life truly lived to the fullest.

When Louis was born, he was destined to be named after both of his grandfathers, so it was an easy decision for mom and dad to choose his name. From a young age, Louis was curious and hands on, and learned to fix just about anything. He was a collector (some even may say a bit of a hoarder) of things and his hobbies included: remote control cars/planes, ice fishing, quadding, snowmobiling, auctions, and golfing. He especially loved to host annual gatherings like Friendsgiving which always included an entrée of his smoked meat specialty and if it involved large bonfires afterwards, that was even better.

Generous to a fault, Louis always stopped what he was doing to help a friend. If you asked how long it would take, he'd grin and say, "Well, how long is a string?" He could never resist a chat - or a detour - if he ran into family or friends. Louis was a practical joker and sent out "Good mornings" daily on his group texts, which were usually accompanied by hilarious memes. He also loved the Friday game nights and friendly rivalries - and yes, he usually made sure to win.

A hard working businessman, Louis worked side by side with his dad for years in the family business. Eventually, he built up his own business running a car & truck wash, with his wife, Jessica. In addition, he always proudly gave back to the community through countless donations and volunteer work. He was a loyal member of the Oilmen's and Kinsmen club, which was an important brotherhood to him.

Louis loved to travel when he could and particularly loved hot places like Vegas, Belize and Jamaica. Ironically, even though Louis loved hot places, he kept his house exceptionally cold at a whopping 15-16 degrees. Louis loved watching movies, and had the TV programs on a constant rotation of superhero movies and cooking/bbq shows playing in the background and always had it at the volume of someone who spent way too much time in a mechanical pump room.

Louis faced health challenges over the years with strength and humor, proving time again, that nothing could slow him down. Even several years after our dad had passed, Louis always wanted to make sure that he made dad proud - and Louis, without a doubt, you most certainly did.

Lastly, please continue to share your stories of Louis to keep his memory alive, and when you have a can of pop or bacon in the morning be sure to think of him. He has touched the lives of so many in his close knit community and will truly be missed by all of those who knew him.

Louis is survived by his wife, Jessica; sister, Melanie (Franky) Adriao; brother, lan Rudiger as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a legion of friends too numerous to list that were like family to him.

Loved ones that are no longer with us: Paternal Grandparents, Louis and Lucienne Rudiger; Maternal Grandparents, Louis and Simone Tardif; his Mother; Louise Rudiger, his Father, Leon Rudiger; his sister Marcy Rudiger; and his son, Lucas Rudiger.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone for their love and support in this most difficult time.

As per Louis' request, there was no funeral and a small remembrance gathering has taken place.
