Murray Charney
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Murray Charney of Edmonton, Alberta, formerly from Saskatoon/Vonda, on November 12, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 71.
Murray was born in Saskatoon on February 4, 1954, to the late Pete and Lena Charney. He spent his life in the Vonda area, where he was known for his warmth, quick wit, sense of humour, dedication to family, and strong connection to his Ukrainian roots.
Murray is lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen, and his children, Peter and Helena (Shandra). He is also survived by his sister Irene and brother Ron, along with extended family and many friends who will miss him deeply.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Murray's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Registration No. 106846942RR0001).

Hey Murray I’m gonna really miss you! I thought you’d be around for awhile yet. Me and mine have only known you for a few years, although it feels much longer. You have a way of growing on people, and we’re glad our paths have crossed. Your presence will be missed. But, we will remember you, speak fondly of you, and still laugh when we remember your outgoing and sometimes outspoken (lol) character.
