Gregory Charles Joseph Doherty
In the early hours of November 16, Gregory Charles Joseph Doherty of Leduc, AB passed away at the age of 77.
Greg will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Siobhan (Garrett), Sinead (Rick), Brendan (Jill), and Eiblis; five grandchildren: Duncan, Quinn, Rory, Sylvie, and Shea; and numerous friends, including Theresa.
Greg was born in Montreal in 1948 and had many tales of growing up in what can only be described as a fun time. He was particularly proud to have been the youngest employee hired to work Expo ‘67 and delighted in sharing stories of his childhood. In 1981, working for Customs and Immigration brought him west to Edmonton, before moving to Airdrie in 1994 for work. He worked for many years with CP Rail before retiring to Leduc to be closer to his children. Greg delighted in spending time with family and always had everyone laughing with funny stories and jokes. Music was a great love, and many road trips were spent singing along to classics like Buddy Holly, Jerry Lewis, and Louis Prima. He was a lifelong fan of the L.A Dodgers and was pleased at their winning two World Series in a row.
The family would like to thank the workers at the Grey Nuns palliative care unit for their kindness and compassion during the last week of Greg’s life.

Thinking of you all and wishing you strength and courage as you go through this difficult time.
Love and hugs to all,
Allan

Regards.
I’m so sorry to hear of Greg’s passing.
I worked many shifts over the years as a crew dispatcher with him in the NMC from 1997.
Never one for bad moods, Greg always had a twinkle in his eye as he shared a lot of laughs with the rest of the gang.
My deepest condolences, so very sorry for your loss. May your hearts heal, may they fill with beautiful memories and moments that you shared.
Grey was a wonderful person.
Our deepest condolences and wishing you all peace and comfort and loving memories to hold in your heart.
Love, Gabe and Jack
My deepest condolences to Theresa and the family at this time of loss. I worked with Greg in the early 80s and was a team mate at a few curling bonspiels. Many good memories.
