John Michael Whitworth

The family of John Michael Whitworth is saddened to announce his passing on Monday, December 1st, 2025.

He passed away at St. Michael’s LTC, Edmonton, AB, with his son AJ by his side. John Michael was born in Derby, England and served in the British Royal Navy. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1970. John Michael enjoyed running and believed heavily in fitness, often entering marathons.

He will be remembered for his quick wit and ability to always get a laugh. He is survived by his son AJ (Dee), and his beloved granddaughter Charlie. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 60 years Marion, and his daughter Tracey.

There will be a memorial held on December 12th, 2025 1:30 pm at St. Michael’s LTC, 7404 139 Ave, Edmonton, AB in the chapel downstairs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army in John Michael’s name.
