Richard Frederick Wilson (1937–2026)

Richard Frederick Wilson, aged 88, passed away on January 30, 2026, at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans surrounded by his family.

Born on December 5, 1937, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Richard lived a life devoted to family, friends and service.

As a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force Richard served his country with honour and integrity. After his military career, he became a teacher, dedicating 30 years to inspiring students in telecommunications at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Richard was an avid golfer and an active member of the Belvedere Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia, his children, Allan, Cheryl and Terry, four beloved grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Richard’s legacy of service, humility, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held in the summer of 2026 at a date to be announced later.
