Geraldine (Gerri) Anne Pappas

Gerri passed away peacefully on Feb. 22nd, 2026 at Capital Care Grandview, at the age of 78, with a friend by her side. In her final several years she was suffering from Alzheimer’s. She is now at peace.

Predeceased by her parents James, Emilie (Amelia) nee Goertz, sister Marelle and brother Jeffery. Also by her beloved Emil.

She is survived by a few relatives and numerous friends.

Gerri was born on Jan. 30th, 1948, in Edmonton, Alberta. She liked to remind us that she hated the name "Geraldine", as it reminded her of a "cow" on a milk carton, which she recalled as a child. She enjoyed traveling, right up to the passing of Emil and her battle with Alzheimer's. Many have mentioned her sense of humor, even the staff that cared for her during her final years. Gerri cherished friendships, cultivating a wide network of friends from every stage of life.

She spent a good part of her career working for Chieftain Oil. After it's sale, she continued working for Stanley Milner.

Honouring her wishes, she has been cremated and no service will be held.
