Jose Jacinto Duarte of Edmonton, AB passed on Monday March 16, 2026 at the age of 85 years.
Jose, brother, uncle, great-uncle and great-great uncle, will be lovingly remembered by his sister Olivia (John) Ferreira and his brother Arnaldo (Lidia) Duarte; nieces: Patricia (Pedro) Ferreira, Linda Scott, Sandy (Moses) Cordeiro and Carla (Jerry) Dec; nephews: Luis (Maria) Ferreira, Michael (Sandra) Ferreira, and Manuel (Carmelia) Duarte; extended family: Fatima Pacheco, Cidalia Sousa, Joao Duarte, Paulo Duarte, Mario Duarte, Luisa Mota, Arnaldo Silva, Gustavo Sousa and Jose Sousa. He also leaves numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews who loved him.
He was predeceased by his parents Manuel and Trindade Duarte; brothers; John Duarte, Manuel Duarte, Antonio Duarte as well as a sister-in-law Maria Duarte.

My deepest condolences as we mourn the loss of my beloved tío Jacinto. His presence touched many lives, and his memory will remain a source of strength and love. He was such a happy and loving man and I will never forget the times we would work together and seeing him laugh at my husband singing to him and making jokes. We will see you again some day. Lots of love from Carla, Jerry and Kira.
