Anne Victoria Ginther

Anne Victoria Ginther passed away peacefully surrounded by those she loved on August 19, 2026. Born on August 8, 1936, in Saddle Lake, AB. to Daniel and Julia Collins, spending part of her childhood there before making Edmonton her home. She worked as a homemaker and soon she met Dennis Ginther. They married in 1967 and together they built a life and a family with Lisa, David, Dean, and Nicky to add to her previous children, Tim, Brian, and Gail. It was in the late 60’s that she worked at the Royal Alex Hospital as a housekeeper and her job soon changed to her being a porter. There were many grateful family members when mom appeared in their hospital room to take them to the operating room. She always had a kind word for them. She loved her job and was the best at what she did but was to retire in 1999 even though she was asked by her manager to stay. After retirement she appreciated the small things in life; travelling a few hours to see her family or friends, sitting at their table and spending her time with her story telling, which would make everyone laugh. She was an amazing mother, and these moments were often the most meaningful ones.

To cherish and treasure her memories as a grandmother are 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren: Dusteen (David Miller) and her children: Reis, Orra and Ivan, Dallas and her children: Myles and Myah, Nikki and her children: Danielle, Dexter, Gail and her children: Daniel, Laura, Lisa and her children: Hubert & Emerson, Dean’s children: Austen (Asrabel), Emily, Tim’s children: Bessie & Tanya, Brian’s children: Shelley, Daz, Amanda and Dale.

She was predeceased by her husband Dennis, her parents, Daniel and Julia, brothers, Alex, Jackie and Willard, sisters-Mary, Flora, Doris & Christine, and her two sons Nicky and Tim.
