Artur Ferreira Cabral

Surrounded by his loving family, Artur Cabral departed this life on October 17th, 2022 after having reached the age of 74 years.

Artur is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lidia Cabral; three daughters: Graziela (Shannon) Mink of Somerset, Kentucky, Lidia Cabral of Edmonton, Alberta and Ruby (Patrick) Stemkowski of Victoria, British Columbia; six grandsons: Nick Cabral, Darius Mink, Aiden O’Flaherty, Vladimir Stemkowski, Warren Mink and Rykir Stemkowski; one great-granddaughter Carmella Cabral; his siblings: Maria (Antero) Dos Anjos, Jacinto (Linda) DaSilva and Georgina DaSilva as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.

Artur retired from A&B Rail after many years of dedication to the company he loved, a long-standing member of Local 92, and served in active military service for the Portuguese military. Artur’s hobby’s included; fishing, and watching hockey, he was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he was also a huge fan of F.C. Porto and loved talking soccer with his friends. He enjoyed cooking, making wine and serving in the Portuguese community through Our Lady of Fatima Church. After many years of hard work and providing for his family, Artur was able to build his dream home in his beloved Portugal and retire there with his loving wife. They spent their last years together in Canada and Portugal

Born March 15, 1948 in Fenais da Luz, Sao Miguel, Azores, Artur is predeceased by his parents, Artur and Maria Herminia Da Silva; his brother Manuel DaSilva, Jose Cabral and sister Ana Maria DaSilva.
