Astrid Lucille Pender (nee Bertelsen)
December 31, 1935 – September 11, 2018
It is with the most unbelievable sadness that we announce the passing of Astrid Pender, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt , cousin and friend on September 11, 2018.
She will be forever loved and remembered by her children Robin (Todd), Bruce (Trudy), her Grandchildren Heather (Adam), Kimberley, Jaclyn (Zach) Alix (Calen): her siblings Rita, Ruth (Jack), Harold (Freda), Bev (Henri), Karen (Glenn): her great-grandsons Clark and Jake (who were her brightest lights for the last 2 years). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. (We wish all could be named, but there just wouldn’t be enough space.)
Astrid will always be remembered for many things including her irreverent sense of humour, her amazing musical ability, her love of sports (particularly Hockey, Football and Nascar), but mostly her love for her family. She brought wit and charm to any social gathering and could be counted on to make you laugh.

So many memories stirred by a name of a great, neat Mom and wonderful lady. I can only imagine her a grandmother!?
Astrid was my second Mom in so many ways for the longest period of my youth. She supported us, fed us, educated us, even scolded and disciplined us because she was a great Mom! I know she continued her important role because she has had that return support from so many people in her life. I wish upon all of the family and her friends a sincere hug as she would have done anytime for me so many years ago.
I pray the memories you all share can sustain you and those you love at this time and in the future!
