Caroline Kennedy
On August 12, 2025, our beloved Caroline passed away in Edmonton, Alberta.
After moving to Alberta, Caroline's passion for the outdoors was further fueled by the mountains. She loved to hike to pristine lakes and spectacular vistas always with her faithful companion Cleo by her side. Jasper was her favourite. In the winter, she skied with grace down long runs in the Rockies, having honed her skills on the slopes of Mount St. Louis and Blue Mountain. While in Ontario. she visited many parks (Algonquin, Superior, Wasaga, Awenda, and many more) solo, or with her dad or partner Mason, and, of course, Cleo. This love of the outdoors probably began with interior canoe camping trip to Algonquin with her mother, her brother Ray, and stepfather when she was young, and visits to grandparents at Lake of Bays and Ossossane Beach.
Caroline was a talented equestrian, having started riding at age 8, and evented in her teens with Grandview Farm. She was an aggressive rugby player playing with Park Street Trojans and the Aurora Barbarians RFC and making the U18 Ontario and Queens University teams. Concussions and injuries ended these pursuits.
Caroline was a study in contrasts: she loved a raucous party, as well as, quietly photographing nature and painting watercolours.
Her exquisitely decorated cakes and cookies were enjoyed by the lucky recipients.
Rest in peace, dear Caroline.

Dear Laurie,
It was a real shock to find out from Anne Bennington that your beloved daughter Caroline, had passed away. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child, no matter how old they might be. I remember Caroline coming to school with you on snow days, such a darling child. After reading Caroline’s obituary, it sounds like even though her life ended way too early, she had the opportunity to pursue the things that she loved, what a remarkable young woman!!
Holding you and your family in my prayers Laurie,
With love,.Roberta Allen
