Donald McConnell
June 2, 1931 to April 15, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald McConnell announces his passing on April 15, 2019 in Edmonton at the age of 87 years, after a courageous battle with pneumonia.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by Gladys, his wife of 61 years, his three children; Audrey (Randy), Gail (Brian), Lori and his two grandchildren; Paul Hrynew (Sarah) and Courtney Hrynew.
Don is survived by his sisters; Pearl, Marge (Bert), Vera, Donna (Ken), brothers; Ron (Darlene) and Doug (Joan) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Teresa McConnell and brothers Clarence, Raymond and Ken, brother-in-law Mike Johnson and nieces Doreen Holowinski and Tracy Bozniak.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Friday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9009 – 163 Street, Edmonton. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charity of your choice in Don’s name.
So many wonderful memories of Don and family. He was, to the depths of his heart, a good man. Thinking of you all at this time……
Don had a large heart and always made time for family and friends. He will be missed.
