It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Fay (Oszust) Nousek on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by her husband of 61 years, her daughter, and her grandchildren.

Donna was born on March 24th, 1944, in Consort, Alberta, to parents Mary and Paul Oszust. She was the youngest of five children. She was raised on a farm in Kirriemuir, Alberta, until she moved to live with her sister Nancy in Consort. Throughout her late teenage years, she lived in Edmonton and Beaverlodge before moving to Peace River. While working in Peace River, she met her husband, Richard “Dick” Nousek, and they were married on September 4th, 1964. Donna and Dick moved from Peace River to Edmonton, where they lived until 1971, when they relocated to a farm near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, where they lived and worked while raising their two daughters, Tammy and Kimberly.

Throughout Donna’s life, she had a passion for music and dancing. In 1969, Donna and her sister Nancy created a western band, The Teardrops, and performed their musical show in many hotels throughout Edmonton.

Donna was a hard worker with many roles over her life, but one constant was her dedication to the dietary department of hospitals, from which she retired after a 34-year career. She loved cooking, baking, crafts, camping with her brother Ken and his family, growing her flower gardens, and spending time with family. Later in life, she cherished time with her great-grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her husband Richard; her daughter Kimberly Nousek (Leif); her grandchildren Richard Readman (Jamie) and Shelby Larson (Colin); and her great-grandchildren Liam Readman and Cohen Wilson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Linda Halabisky (Jim), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donna was predeceased by her daughter Tammy; her sisters Gwen, Betty, and Nancy; her brother Ken; and her brothers-in-law Donald, Brian, and Lorne.
