Born in 1941 in New Glasgow, NS, she was the youngest of eight children born to Samuel and Carrie Cummings.  She was very athletic, excelled at bowling and in later life loved to walk (very quickly) every day.  An excellent organizer and a wonderful cook, she took great care of her home and family.  She was a faithful Christian, kind to everyone and always had a ready smile.

She was graduate of Nova Scotia Teachers College and taught school, where most of the grade 8 kids were bigger than her. In 1971, she and her husband Earle relocated to Edmonton where she was employed with Sears Canada for almost 25 years.

She is survived by her husband, Earle, son, Glenn (Brenda) of Dauphin, MB and their children, Jocelyn, Leanna and Emily; son, Stephen (Joan) of Halifax, NS and their children, Sean, Julia and Luke.  She is also survived by one brother, Allister and his wife Barbara of Fredericton, NB, sisters-in-law, Bernetta Cummings of Stellarton, NS and Marion Cummings, of New Glasgow, NS as well as eight nieces and one nephew.
