It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Granny, and Great Granny - Hazel Pearl Tatton, in her home on February 15, 2024 at the age of 96.

Hazel was predeceased by her Husband Bill Tatton (1990), Son George Tatton (2022), her Mom Bessie DeLorme (1967), her Dad Joseph DeLorme (1974), her 9 Brothers & Sisters, and many other close Relatives and Friends.

She leaves to mourn her two Daughters: Mary and Billy-Jo (Dean). Daughter-in-law: Sheila. Grandchildren: Michelle (Andy), Krista (Ben), Christopher (Melissa), Megan (Taran), Curtis (Makayla), Jess (Zak), and Joe (Kieran). Great Grandchildren: Mason, Koston, Keenan, Blake, Brielle, Theo, and Hugh.

Hazel was born in Halfway Lake, Alberta in 1927 and attended school in a 1 room schoolhouse (Gullion). She married Bill Tatton in 1959, where they lived on the Fairydell Farm raising their 3 children before moving to Edmonton in 1964. Hazel learned her work ethic at an early age from her Mom & Dad and from being raised on the farm. This work ethic showed in everything that she did in her life, along with strong family values, and a love for everyone who was blessed to know her.

Hazel worked for a short time during WWII at the Edmonton Barracks helping in the Mess Hall for all the Air Force pilots. She then worked for Grandpa & Nana Tatton on the Fairydell Farm. She also worked for a number of years at the Downtown Zellers Store in the Notions/Fabrics Department, and then also at the Bay Store in Rocky Mountain House.

Hazel always loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her door was always open, and there was always lots of great food for everyone to enjoy. She was an excellent cook and baker, and family & friends would always love eating her homemade bread, pies, and soups.

Mom was the most loving, kind, thoughtful, generous, hardworking, and selfless woman, and our Family was blessed to have her in our lives for 96+ precious years.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Mom to be held at a later date.

  1. Our deepest sympathy to all the Tatton family in the passing of our sweet aunt Hazel. Our Aunt is a huge part of all of our lives and her door was always open for a visit. She so adored her family. We will miss her dearly but know she is now reunited with Uncle Bill and her son George and the rest of her family. She cared dearly for all of us.
The wonderful memories of your mom will bring you much joy and will help to heal your hearts as it will for us too. We will always remember her with a smile as she is such an extraordinary woman that brought sunshine and love to our lives. She truly will be missed. A piece of our hearts are gone with her.
    Love Joan, Ryan and Craig
