Hugh Malcolm Kerr

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh Malcolm Kerr, at the age of 83, on November 2, 2026.

Hugh will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Deborah, and his stepchildren: Julie Cooper (Dave), Gordon Jones (Vanessa), Bryan Joes (Cheryl), and Morgan Jones (Bridget). He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren: Justin, Chris, Holly, Alannah, Eric, Madison, Shelby, Olivia Bennett, Maxwell, and Brook, and two grandchildren, Georgia and Dallas.

Hugh was predeceased by his father, George Kerr; his mother, Jean Kerr; his sister, Lois Hudec; and his brother, Don Kerr.

Hugh spent much of his working life in the dairy industry, working for Silverwoods Dairy and palm Dairies, where he served as fleet manager. He later finished his career with Edmonton Catholic Schools as a Senior Custodian.

Outside of work, Hugh found happiness, in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being outdoors, whether fishing camping, or simply puttering around. His musical tastes were as varied as his interests, ranging from gospel and classical to fold and rock and roll.

Friendship meant a great deal to Hugh. He took his friendships seriously and was fortunate to maintain relationships with friends dating bak to junior high and high school. He also treasured his tie with the Tigers rugby team, where he enjoyed not only the game but, especially, the camaraderie and friendships that came with being part of the club.

Hugh leaves behind many memories, lasting friendships, and a family who will miss him dearly. He will be remembered for the life he lived, the people he cared about, and the many connections he made along the way.
