Dad loved his visits with Uncle Jack. We are certain Dad and the rest of the family welcomed him into Heaven with open arms. What a reunion they must be having!

    —– Any Other —–

there it is, in the end, there it is
the entrails of your life clawed back
paired down to a drifter’s encounter
with self and same, there it is

a life remembered cold and indifferent
the only thing left is to think the best and
refrain from whatever else you think
as the past lies not 6 feet away waiting

for all the world to proceed in a fashion
trying to again appear untouched again
as the veneer wears even thinner and
disbelief encroaches upon our very door

the real world is as apparent now as
    any other how.

    • Hi d, this is your cousin, Shannon. I am so very sorry for the loss of your Dad, my lively, wiry Uncle Jack. Corey and I attended his service online today and thought of you. Your Uncle Jim spoke beautifully, and imitated your Dad so well that it hurt, but he shared some lovely stories that made us laugh and Del spoke from her heart. They’ve all known each other longer than we’ve been alive. I shall always remember your Dad as the cowboy who vaulted the canyon wall and I will endeavour to laugh until it hurts much more often. Thank you for posting a poem for him; you have a gift for words. Sending you and Ginny much love, Shannon.

  10. My Uncle Jackie,
Where to start, you were the best uncle to me! always ready to take on the Kirk kids!
We had many great times in Kinnaird lol ! You were very special to me and will always be my special Uncle. Loved when you called me Sis!
You will always be with me, Uncle Jack!!

    Love cheryl

  11. It was with shock and sadness that I learned today (Nov. 21) of Jack’s passing and my heart goes out to Deanna and his extended family. I have known Jack as a helpful, intelligent and kind person and he will be missed.
