Judith Gayle Wuite (nee Davey)
Judith Gayle Wuite, affectionately known as Judi to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at Saint Michael's Long Term Care Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 82 with family at her side.
Judi was born on March 10, 1944, in Toronto, Ontario, to Roy and Bev Davey. In 1966, Judi graduated from the Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing. Her love of travel began shortly thereafter, heading off to the UK to work and travel.
Upon her return from the UK, she met John in Ontario, and they were married on May 30, 1970, and started their family with the births of Jamie and Janet. In 1976 they all moved to western Canada, and completed the family with the arrival of Jeff in 1977. Judi spent most of her adult life in Calgary, a city she proudly called home.
Judi had a passion for travel and enjoyed exploring new places with family and friends. She was also a creative spirit who loved a variety of crafts, including sewing and crocheting.
Judi was predeceased by her parents, Bev and Roy Davey, and by her brother, Michael Davey. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 56 years, John; her children, James (Susan), Janet (Colin), and Jeffrey (Shannon); and her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Claire, Mairin, and Mason. Her love, kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain an enduring part of their lives.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Saint Michael's Long Term Care Centre for the care and kindness they provided to Judi during her final months.
In accordance with Judi’s wishes, her remains will join Roy, Bev, and Mike at the Prospect Cemetery in Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Judi's memory.
