Margaret Mary Stocks

Margaret Mary Stocks passed away peacefully in Touchmark long term care on May 16, 2026. Thank you to all of the staff for taking care of her for the last 2 years.

She was born on August 22, 1929 in Edmonton and grew up in Cadomin where her father worked in the coal mine. Unfortunately he died in a mine accident when she was 10 years old. Margaret and her mother stayed in Cadomin until she graduated from high school in 1948. Then they moved to Edmonton where Margaret completed various courses and worked for Social Services being promoted to various positions and responsibilities until her retirement in 1991. Along the way she received many awards for excellent work.

Margaret was a very caring and generous person supporting many charities and volunteering at the St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church where she also attended.

She was always a joy to talk to and never had a harsh word to say about anyone and even in her failing health in the last couple of years she had a sharp wit and good sense of humor.

She was predeceased by her father George Stocks in 1939 and her mother Mary Stocks in 1983.

There will be a funeral service for Margaret at St. Michael's Cemetery 13819 82 St. at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 25, 2026.
