It is with heavy hearts that Marlene's family announces her sudden passing on Jan. 15, 2017. She is now in the arms of angels. Born in Schefferville, Quebec, she is survived by her parents Don and Claudette LeRoux, son Austin, sister Diane (Gerard) Monaghan, nieces Joelle and Melissa, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Marlene's early years were spent in Schefferville before moving to Fort McMurray, AB where she attended school and went on to obtain a certificate in Business Administration at Keyano College. She continued her studies at Mount Royal College in Calgary obtaining a diploma in Recreation Management. Her strong friend and family circle drew her back to Fort McMurray where she pursued a career with Canada Post. After 20 years, she thought it was time to try something new so she moved to Edmonton and opened her own business.
Marlene had a multitude of friends and welcomed everyone from all walks of life. She is well known for her gentle, fun-loving ways. Her infectious love of life will be missed by all who knew her.

My heart aches for your loss. The first time I met Marlene, I thought, no, no, no, you are Fifi LeRoux (best stripper name) she loved it, and when I called Fifi she would answer. I have missed her since she moved to Edmonton, will miss her vibrancy, will miss her……

So sorry to hear of Marlene’s passing.
To the LeRoux Family

Jack and I send our heartfelt condolences to you and all the family on hearing of Marlene’s passing. No one can prepare us for the loss of a child and few words can be spoken to comfort us at a time like this. What would we have done without Marlene who babysat my boys for many years! They loved her and we did too.A sweet , kind loving soul and free spirit looking for the best in the world around her is how we will remember Her . May she rest in peace now forever and leave us with the best memories of all being together. Our deepest sympathy Don, Claudette , Diane and family.
