It is with deep sadness we announce that Myriam Chidiak, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away on October 24, 2022 at age 62 in Edmonton, Alberta. She will be dearly missed by her son David Murray and his wife Leah, by her granddaughter Rya, her brother Joe Chidiak and his wife Karen, her nieces Isabella and Gaby, her cousin and sister, Christine Baghdady and her husband Edward Pu, and her many family and friends around the world from Egypt to Australia.

Myriam was a special soul with a generous heart. She welcomed all into her home and was always ready to listen, help and of course, offer food and drink. She courageously battled health issues the last 6 years of her life but never wavered in her love of seeing and being with others, and still enjoyed life as much as she could manage. We are grateful for every moment we were lucky to have with her. She will live in our hearts forever.

A funeral service and reception to celebrate Myriam’s life will take place on Friday November 4, 2022 at 2 PM at

Trinity Funeral Home, 10530 – 116 Street, Edmonton AB.

  3. My condolences to the families.
I meet Myriam at Ness Junior High in good old Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Once she moved to Edmonton, there was always a place to stay and spectacular food. Even a few weeks after David was born, she welcomed me into her home for a visit.
John Taylor Collegiate class of 1979 – When able, Myriam would always set aside vacation time to come to Winnipeg for a visit. The stories I could tell about our High School Reunions would make you laugh and cry all at the same time.
Myriam – As time goes by, you will never be forgotten. Forever in our hearts.

  4. To all members of the family that she devoted her life:
I am sorry for your loss. Myriam was a very loving soul. She will be miss and never forgotten.

  5. My thoughts are with Myriam’s family close friends. She was a wonderful person and always had a smile. She will be greatly missed.

  6. The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
    Amen,
Myriam, you was always a good friend to me, I will always remember you

    • Sincerest condolences Joe, Karen and girls, David, Leah and Rya, & Christine and Ed at this sad time….John and I always enjoyed the Calgary and Edmonton visits we had with Myriam in the few short years we knew her. As her caring and supportive brother, and your entire family, may you be comforted knowing she is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. Wishing you strength in the days ahead and we’ll be with you in spirit for Friday’s livestream service, as we are currently out of the country. Take care, Marla and John 🙏
