Robert (Bob) Patterson
Bob was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on June 28, 1951. He was the third child having 2 older sisters, Patricia and Marie and soon to follow was sister Alice and to Bob’s great delight his brother Herb. Bob did all his schooling in Saskatchewan but could not find work so he moved to Alberta in 1970. He found employment with N.A.D.P. (Dairyland) and worked in Edmonton for 5 years before accepting a franchise in Edson where he ran his own company for 32 years. He then worked at NAPA for a few years before working at Contour Construction for the last 7 years before retiring.
In 1974 he met the love of his life, Shiela. He welcomed her and her 2 children, Elliott and Kimberlee, into his family when they married in 1976. The next year son Rob arrived to complete their family. Bob loved family first and foremost and spent many hours teaching them about the outdoors. Hunting, fishing and camping were among his favorite things to do. All his children were taught how to do these activities. Time spent with family and friends was very important to him. Bob also served his community first in St. Catherine’s Anglican Church and then with Rotary International. He served with Rotary over 20 years and held most positions. He also traveled to Mexico twice once with a school bus and then a fire truck to be delivered to needy communities in and around Mazatlán.

Shiela – we were so sorry to hear the sad news about Bob, and know how much he will be missed. He made many important contributions to the community of Edson, and to other important causes. It was a pleasure knowing him.
We’re so sorry to hear about Bob.
He was such a great person!
Bob was involved with so many Rotary projects over the years and truly strengthened our community. Everywhere he went, Bob just left things better than he found them. Including people!
Personally, when we were evacuated and I was struggling with my trailer for the first time, Bob and Sheila were there—genuinely kind, and willing to help.
I will always remember sitting in the Walmart parking lot, trying not to worry, and listening to Bob crack jokes and putting everyone at ease.
Our thoughts are with Shiela and all who’ll miss Bob.
Sheila and Family, so truly sorry for your loss. Bob was a wonderful Man and it was our pleasure to have known and worked with him. Always a welcoming smile and greeting. The world was a better place because of him.
Shiela and family, we are so sorry for your loss. We have many fun and happy memories volunteering alongside Bob. He was always ready with a warm handshake and welcoming smile!
Bob will be missed and I can’t imagine who will take over his mug at Galloways? ‘Who’s your Daddy?’
As the Milkman Bob said he loved that joke!!
Sheila and family,
I’m so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing after his courageous battle with cancer. I’ll always remember him as my little cousin in Saskatchewan. Love to all of you.
Hello Sheila,
We wish you and your family peace in Bob’s passing. It has been a tough road for all of you.
Though it has been over 60 years since last seeing Bob, I will always recall his kindness toward a younger cousin (Ruby’s son).
