It is with great sadness that we say our mom passed away very suddenly. Susan Werezak (née Anderson) of Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 89. She left this world as she lived — quietly and gracefully — while taking a nap on the couch, her cup of tea resting on the table in front of her.

Susan was born on December 15th, 1935, to Eliza Gray and Walter Anderson, in a peaceful home birth in Upsala, Ontario. Her childhood was filled with the simple joys of wilderness life — playing with her sisters and brothers, eating fresh vegetables from the family garden, and fishing in the lake near their home. These early years in Upsala shaped her lifelong love of nature, simplicity, and family.

At the age of 15, Susan moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario to live with a sibling, beginning a new chapter marked by independence, resilience, and devotion to those she loved. Known for her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and enthusiastic sense of humor, Susan touched the lives of many and left a legacy of warmth and grace.

Susan is survived by her two daughters, Katherine, and Cindy; her six grandchildren — Jason, Cody, Shelby, Chelsea, Keelie, and Sam — whom she lovingly helped care for throughout the years. Always ready to lend a hand, Susan was a steady and comforting presence in their lives. She was also a loving great-grandmother to four and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A small gathering of family and close friends to celebrate Susan’s life was held on November 25th, 2025, at Trinity Funeral Home.

Susan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the joy she brought into every day and the love she gave so freely.

  1. My deepest sympathies to the family.

I didn’t meet Susan until later in life. As we live in different provinces. Her and Lee stayed with us in Manitoba for several days as they traveled through to Ontario and then back again on the way home. After that visit, Susan would phone us regularly. It was always a joy to yap for a long time. She always had great things to say. I will miss those calls!!
I hope she is having an awesome reunion with her brother Bob, who was my husband!!! Say hi to him for me and tell him I miss him.

Condolences to her girls and her grandbabies and great grandbabies, whom she always told me about.

Much love and compassion to you all.
    Vicki Anderson…..Susan’s sister in law.

  2. Dear Katherine, Cindy and families,
Our deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved mom.
The sudden loss of your mom is a great loss indeed. Mothers are often the glue that holds the family together. Their love is unconditional.

The night sky has a shiny new star.

    Thinking of you all.

    Hugs, kisses and blessings.

    Sharon, Ben, and Rob Molnar
