Patricia Donna Payne
It is with saddened hearts that the family of Patricia Payne, of Edmonton, announce her passing on September 29, 2020 at the age of 64.
Predeceased by her parents William and Anna Zadick, Patricia is survived by her husband Bryan, daughters Natalie Boyes of Cochrane, AB and Kimberley Payne(David Hughes) of London, England, sister Margie Abrams of Surrey, BC as well as her nephews Tyler and Troy.
Patricia was an incredible woman, the hardest working person we’ve ever known. She was passionate about her career working at CN where she served an impressive 46 years. Patricia was well known for going above and beyond in everything she did and achieved. She was a wonderful mother raising her girls, taking them on fantastic holidays and putting them through University. She was also regularly winning at crib, showing off her spectacular culinary skills at dinner parties and had become a very talented orchid grower. Patricia was also exceptionally generous, intelligent, wise and protective of everyone she loved be it family, friends or colleagues. We will miss her powerful presence in our lives forever.
We dearly wish she could have been with us longer, but we are so grateful for the time we had with Patricia and consider ourselves very lucky to have made so many beautiful memories with her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice, in Patricia’s memory.
“Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for, as long as there is a memory, they’ll always live on in our heart.”
It is with sincere sympathy that I learned of Pat’s passing. We worked together at CN for many year.

I worked with Patricia at the Teamsters/CN. She was a wonderful person and was always so helpful. Although we were on opposite sides (Company and Union) she was so considerate and we used to have really good talks. I miss her a great deal and wish we could have gone for that lunch we always talked about. She was beautiful inside and out and the World is a darker place without her. My sincere sympathy to you.
Pat was a great co worker and always full of energy and good ideas. We know how much she loved her life and family. Condolences.

This is one of the most difficult things you can experience. We are so sorry.
Pat, the energy bunny, was a friend for over 25 years. Her love for her family was undeniable …you could see the love in her eyes when she talked about all of you.We shared a lot of laughter and created lots of memories. The Christmas tradition we had …exchanged a kitchen item ….was the best
Pat was exceptional at everything she did. There was nothing she did without giving her all.
We know she’s is playing crib with her dad.
I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Pat. We worked together for many years in the Engineering Department at the CN Tower. One of the best bosses I had in my career at CN. My deepest sympathy goes to her family.
I was lucky enough to work with Pat at CN and was amazed at her energy and enthusiasm for the job. This was only surpassed by the love she had for her family which was evident every time she spoke of them –which was often. My deepest sympathies to Bryan, Natalie and Kimberley and families. May the wonderful memories stay with you and get you through this tough time.

I had the privilege of working with Pat a number of years ago when I was a “greenhorn” at CN, and I remember her as being a good sounding board. I counted on her for her solid guidance, advice and mentoring. Pat was always approachable, witty, and always enjoyed a good laugh. Pat was the type of person who would enter your life and leave a positive imprint.

My husband and I met Pat through work at CN. She was a stellar lady to work with. Very grateful for all or her tips and tricks she taught us over the years. Much love to Pat’s family. She is missed.
My condolences to the family Pat was truly an incredible woman I saw her often when I worked with her in Edmonton and then later when I moved to Vancouver. I kept trying to convince her to join the CN Police because we needed leaders with a firm hand. She just wanted to drive the police cars with the lights and sirens on. She was so caring about her fellow employees and safety. One of the best Railroaders I ever met, may God bless you and take you to his heavenly kingdom. Rest In Peace.
I met Pat in 1997 while taking the Supervisory Development Program. She was so kind an encouraging to all of us. Friendly, generous with sharing her considerable knowledge. My condolences to Pat’s family on the loss of this wonderful woman.

My sincere condolences to Pat’s family. I worked with Pat at CN in Edmonton. She was kind, considerate, knowledgeable and always willing to help. I learnt so much from her. I considered her not only my co-worker but my friend . Her girls were always the most important part of her life. She was at my wedding and gave us a concrete mushroom for our yard. I will always think of her fondly when I look at it. She was truly a remarkable woman and my life has been enriched by knowing her.
I always enjoyed working with Pat. She made stressful or mundane days, fun and always light hearted. She will be missed by all who knew her and those who loved her. My sincere condolences to all.
My condolences to the family. Pat was always full of cheer and energy. A funny recollection of mine is how she normally knew before I did that I was starting some new assignment at CN. She would sometimes let it slip while we were gathered at the photocopier! There was great esprit de corps on the 22nd Floor of the CN Bldg in those days and Pat Payne was chief among them who made it nice to work there. Again, I am sorry for the family’s loss.
I met Pat while working in Edmonton. She was truly a caring and helpful person. Sorry to hear of her passing, my condolences to her family and friends.
