Thomas Phillip Gmeinweser

April 30, 2018 3 Condolences Print Obituary Send Flowers

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Phillip Gmeinweser on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the age of 90 years old.

Tom was born to Barbara and Joseph Gmeinweser in Denzil, Saskatchewan.

He was a strong, thoughtful man who would lend a helping hand to anyone. Tom had a great love of the outdoors, whether it be working in the yard at their lake lot home at Wabamun, camping or travelling with friends and family.

He lived for those simple days of fishing with his sons, grandsons and friends. He was a great craftsman and could make or fix anything. He touched many with his humor, extreme kindness and friendship. He will be greatly missed.

Tom is survived by his wife Agnes, of 62 years, his children Laura, Lee (Harvey), Tim (Darlene), Kim (Kathy); grandchildren: Nicole, Danielle, Michelle, Lindsay, Jesse, Mark, Angela, Tyson and Julia; great grandchildren, Stasia, Brock, Ellie, Chase, Oliver, Ethan, Hunter, Hailey, Holden, Hudson, and siblings, Rupert (Joanne), Theresa (Simon).

  1. Agnes and family, our thoughts are with you.

Tom was an amazing man, forever will he be remembered with us. As neighbours, he welcomed us in, lots of laughs/chats and overall a great friend. A special bond was made with our son Aaron and Tom.

  2. Dear Agnes and Family; We are so sorry for your loss. My mom, Anna always had good things to about her little brother, Tom. We are glad to have met Him when he and Agnes came to Port Aberni for a visit, and then again when Larry and I came passed Lake Wabamun. I was impressed by his humour, friendliness and obvious love for his family. I pray that you will find comfort and support in the Lord Jesus, family, friends and your cherished memories.

  3. I remember Great Uncle Tom with so much fondness. He was always so gentle and kind to me. My Dad, Rupert, held a special place in his heart for Uncle Tom. I stumbled upon Uncle Tom’s obituary after rereading my Dads obituary posted here also (Dad passed away in October). I know they must be sitting close to one another, reminiscing, and looking down and smiling at me as I tear up seeing both of their faces “together” again
