Ian John Neufeld

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ian John Neufeld, age 47.

Ian is lovingly remembered by his parents, Elmer and Jennifer Neufeld; his sister and brother-in-law, Alissa and Robin Mercier; and his nephew and niece, Elliott and Ivy Mercier. He also leaves behind many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will greatly miss him.

Ian bravely and stoically fought cancer for three and a half years with incredible strength and grace. True to who he was, he rarely complained and carried a witty sense of humour right to the end. Ian was known for his quiet, gentle demeanor, intelligence, kindness, and positive outlook on life, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as pets, friends, games, and lifelong learning.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, or Saving Grace Animal Society in Ian’s memory.

Ian will be deeply missed and forever loved. He is now at peace, held in God’s eternal love.
