Claire Kloster
It is with sadness but also with deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we celebrate the life and mourn the death of Claire Kloster.
Claire will be lovingly remembered by her children, Louis, Diane, Francis (Patricia), and John (Donita); grandchildren, Travis, Seth (Taryn) and Tara MacDonald; Petra and Andrea Kloster; Adam (Tatiana), Evan (Kate) and Liam (Jacqueline) Kloster; and three great grandchildren, Sofia, James, and David Kloster.
Claire was predeceased by her husband of almost 69 years, John; their eldest son, George; and her ten siblings, Paul-Emile, Laurent, Marie-Anne, Léo, Jeanne, Bernadette, Lorette, Georgette, Rachel, and Gertrude.
Claire was born on June 28, 1931, the third youngest of eleven children, and raised in Morinville, Alberta. She attended secretarial school, lived with the Sisters of Service for a time, and later worked for the French radio station, CHFA. She met Dad while taking lessons at a dance school in Edmonton. They were married on August 29, 1955. They soon began a family, and Claire became a stay-at-home mom, totally dedicated to raising five children.
In 1977, Dad and Mom built a house on seventy-five acres east of Beaumont and embraced hobby farming. They eventually subdivided the land and gifted each of their adult children with a parcel. Over the years, all would build homes and move their families to the property. Mom and Dad would live the rest of their lives on the acreage, surrounded by their children and grandchildren.
After Dad’s death in 2024, Mom continued to live in the family home with the support of her children and other caregivers. She enjoyed observing the activity at the birdfeeders, completing jigsaw puzzles and word searches, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Edmonton Oilers Hockey games. Always a gardener, Mom still liked to help shell peas and cut green beans for freezing. Prayer was an important part of her day, and she liked hearing short stories read to her. Most of all, she relished any time spent with family.
Mom was a kind and gentle woman, hard-working and humble of heart. She was a woman of great faith, a dedicated wife and mother, and a friend to many. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

Louis
I heard it said, “What glorious reunions await us in heaven “. Love never dies, but is eternal, so in faith, be assured of this truth. May our Lord recieve your dear mom, in His love and peace, and be your comfort through this difficult time.
