JEANETTE FRANCES SCAMMELL
After a long and courageous battle with dementia, Jeanette Frances Scammell of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 86.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter Laurie (Dennis) Komarnicki; her sons Donald (Rose) Sinclair and Robert (Barb) Sinclair; her sisters Mary Gordica and Roselyn Jacobson; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Jeanette was predeceased by her beloved husband Murray; her sisters Irene Davis and Sophie Lesko; and her brothers Richard Waldon and Sonny Waldon.
Throughout her life, Jeanette worked in various occupations, but her greatest passion was volunteering. Recognized as a “Volunteer Angel” by Alberta Casinos, she was always ready to step in at a moment’s notice to support any organization in need.
A true social butterfly, she cherished time spent with family and friends, especially while playing bingo, cards, or a spirited game of backgammon.
Our butterfly angel is now at peace and free.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
