It is with deep sadness that we share with you the passing of Jacques (Jack) Bard, loving husband of Jocelyne (Simard) Bard, who passed away June 4th, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born September 13th, 1945, in Edmundston, NB, Jacques was the son of the late Albert Bard and the late Dianna (Pelletier) Bard. He was the 5th child in a family of ten children.

Other than the love of his life, Jocelyne, Jacques is survived by his children, Pierre and Pauline Bard; grandchildren, Jessica Bard, Sheila and Trent Pierre and great-grandchildren, Anaztayzia Joyce, Bryan Kimiksana-Pierre and Kira Pierre. Also surviving him are two sisters, Jeanne d’Arc Nadeau and Micheline LeBreton and two brothers, Rino and Michel Bard.

He will also be missed by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews and nieces and numerous friends.

He was predeceased by his father and his mother, as well as by his brothers Claude, Guy, Gerard and Daniel and a sister, Huguette, in infancy.

He loved family activities and visited DownEast for many years, where many lovely and lively hours were spent. Road trips were always part of the fun, especially with his brother-in-law,
André Cormier and his sister-in-law, Sonia Simard. And any family that visited the Bard home in Edmonton were treated like royalty! He and Jocelyne and his children would bring their guests
all over Alberta and fully enjoyed the best camping ever! Between 2006 and 2017, Jacques and Jocelyne travelled far and wide to exotic places and to beautiful historical places such as Spain and Italy. They collected many memories along the way and many long friendships were forged which continue to this day.

Jacques started working in the field of construction at the early age of 14 and was a master carpenter by the time he moved to Bathurst, NB, where he met and married the woman of his dreams in 1967.

During his career, Jacques was involved in major construction projects in Halifax NS, Toronto ON, Fort MacMurray, Edmonton and numerous other cities in Alberta, usually as senior
construction superintendent. He knew everything there was to know about construction, from building houses to mega projects like schools, universities, skyscrapers and anything in
between.

Upon his retirement, he operated his own handyman company called “Jack of all trades”. His clients were always appreciative of his attention to detail and the quality of his work.

Referrals were many and kept him busy until his physical health would not allow him to continue.

Jacques, passed away peacefully after having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the age of 78. Jocelyne was his caregiver for many months before he was admitted to Grey Nuns Hospital where the care, attention and consideration by doctors, nurses, and all staff was beyond reproach and so appreciated.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
