Gordon passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2025 following a long, courageous battle with heart disease.

Gordon is predeceased by his wife of nearly 51 years, Mary, who passed away in January 2025. Gordon leaves behind his two sons, Kevin (Kara) and Glenn (Amanda), and his three grandchildren Lily, Molly, and Eliza. Gordon is survived by his brothers Ken (Bev), Ralph (Brenda), and Bern (Kathleen)—in addition to several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gordon is predeceased by his father Alexander Duncan, his mother Mary (nee McKenzie), his brother John, and his son Michael.

Gordon grew up with the benefits of a tight-knit farming community in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan. He met Mary while living in Calgary, AB and they married on July 13, 1974. They remained in Calgary for a short time until moving to Edmonton in the fall of 1976. Kevin was born in March 1977, and shortly thereafter they moved to Sherwood Park. Michael was born in April 1978, followed by Glenn in August 1979.

After becoming empty nesters, Mary and Gordon relocated to British Colombia. Upon retiring in 2019 they moved to Leduc so they could be closer to family. Gordon has had heart disease for several years. After many surgical procedures to improve his quality of life, he passed away from a heart attack on Saturday, July 4. Some of Gordon’s fondest memories were with his children and grandchildren; visiting his family and friends; and, most of all, having a Slurpee and a chocolate bar while going for long, scenic drives with his wife, Mary.
