W.Ashley Craig-Fithen
It is with sadness in their hearts, the loved ones of W. Ashley Craig-Fithen announce his passing on June 30, 2026 in Morinville, AB at the age of 48.
Born on August 4, 1977 in Edmonton, AB to Ken Craig and Sheila Fithen, Ashley always kept them on their toes and was always up for an adventure. He spent time between BC and Ontario while growing up. He graduated from Jasper Place High School in 1996 and started in the trades. Masonry was his first foray and from there he kept trying various trades until carpentry became his passion. He obtained his Journeyman/Red Seal in Carpentry from Lakeland College Vermion. His carpentry skills took him across the country and his tireless work ethic moved him through the ranks and he was Superintendent on job sites for the last few years.
His love of sports and good natured spirit allowed him to meet people from all over. Those who met him usually never forgot him. He was the life of the party and captivated a room no matter where he was. Whether it was hockey, volleyball, baseball or slow pitch, Ash was always the guy with a smile on his face and” hey brother” to all he met. The past few years, the love of the outdoors took him on many adventures in back country camping and traveling to other countries. When his boys were old enough he took them on adventures to the back country in BC, southern Alberta and their greatest adventure Costa Rica.
Ashley leaves to cherish his memory his children Brody Paul and Ty Jackson; his mother Sheila Fithen; his partner Jennifer Pearson (Wilder, Sawyer and Sunny) of Thunder Bay, ON;. his “brothers” Bob Weitzel and Troy Arnett, his brother Anthony Craig, his sister Patricia Murphy, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and the mother of his children Janet Vig. Ashley was predeceased by his biological father Ken Craig and his stepfather Ken Fithen, his paternal grandparents Charlie and Pauline Craig, maternal grandparents Stephen and Majorie McGuire
In true Ashley style, a Celebration of Life will be held and details will follow.
