David Matthew Evans
In Loving Memory of David Matthew Evans
May 6, 1968 - November 2, 2026
It is with profound sadness, but also with gratitude for a life so well lived, that we announce the passing of David Matthew Evans, age 58, who fought a courageous battle with esophageal cancer with remarkable strength, determination, and grace.
David is now reunited with those who went before him: his beloved son, Matthew Evans, his father, Matthew Evans, his mother and father-in-law Elizabeth and Alexander Seaward, paternal grandparents, Matthew and Mary Evans and maternal grandparents, Gerald and Madeline Noseworthy.
We take comfort in imagining the warmth of that long-awaited reunion.
David was a man of exceptional intelligence, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty. He had a curious mind and a knack for seeing things from angles others never considered. According to his mother, Sandra, he was a "borderline genius," and anyone who knew him would find it hard to argue otherwise.
He loved a good laugh and could always be counted on for a clever observation or perfectly timed joke. David also had a well-known fondness for a good conspiracy theory. Whether he truly believed every one of them or simply enjoyed keeping everyone guessing remains one of the many mysteries he leaves behind.
Above all else, David loved his family. Fiercely loyal and deeply devoted, he treasured the people closest to him and took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments. His love, support, and steady presence will be missed beyond words.
David leaves behind the love of his life, his devoted wife, Roberta, and is forever loved and deeply missed by his daughters Melanie and Melinda; his cherished grandchildren Payton, Emersyn, Hope, and Asher; and his mother, Sandra.
He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Beverley (David), Debbie (Steve), and Cheryl (Mike); his brothers and sisters-in-law Lorraine (Ted), Alex (Kathy), Gordon, George (Joan), Janice (Mike), Geraldine (Jeff), Louise, Annie (Doug), Beatrice, Loretta (Dean), Scottie (Kris), Wayne, Georgie, and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Even during the most difficult days of his illness, David met each challenge with courage, resilience, and the sense of humour that made him so special. His strength inspired everyone around him.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, we will forever cherish the memories, laughter, stories, and love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and in the countless lives he touched.
"Perhaps Heaven has gained its newest expert on mysteries, conspiracies, and all the questions the rest of us are still trying to answer."
David will be forever loved, always remembered, and deeply missed.
