    Maureen, Norm and loving families,
I am deeply saddened to learn of Ernie’s passing. So often I have thought of him, and his strength and wisdom. We are so fortunate to have even one friend in our youths who was wise, kind, and honest. He was our rock. I have always regretted not telling Ernie what a great friend he was, and regret further that we have not had more opportunities to meet through the years. His was a life well lived.
He gave me my nick name,
    Sincerely,
    Hound Dog in White RockBC

  7. Maureen/Norm and families
Today is a sad day, Maureen and I were told by our son in law (Mike) that
Ernie has passed. Our condolence to you and Norm.
I still remember first meeting Ernie, the day after my parents bought the Crown food store across the ally from his house back in 1953 (66 years ago). In our childhood became good friends,Ernie and Norm and I were always hanging out, delivering the journal, going to the dances at the Troc. Saturday afternoon, working on Ernie’s first car in his dads garage and hanging out at the Sugar and Spice Cafe and more importantly being my best man at our wedding. It’s unfortunate that our paths separated when we all got busy with jobs and kids. Maureen and I often had Ernie in our thoughts
